Escape to the country at Killarney Picnic Basket Day!

We love our country lifestyle on the Southern Downs and we can’t wait to share it with locals and visitors.

Picnic Basket Day is a chance to breathe, spend time with friends and family, and relish our gorgeous views and weather.

One of Southern Queensland’s most spectacular private gardens, Melrose Station, hosts local producers and makers on the rolling lawns above their spectacular lake.

We invite you spend a day in the gardens being inspired by our local creative artists and country stylists.

Delight in the giant kites decorating the skies flown by Redcliffe Kite Club.

Bring your picnic blanket and chairs and set up a spot in the grounds.  A variety of food stalls will offer BBQ, baked potatoes, pizza, pancakes, Devonshire morning tea, cupcakes, fruit salad and ice cream.

Raffles and local featured musicians add to the relaxed event.

Proceeds from admission go to Livin’, a not-for-profit organisation using apparel, events and motivational programs to get people talking about mental health and suicide prevention.

Proceeds from our basket raffles go to the QCWA Public Rural Crisis Fund, offering support to the women and their families suffering in this drought.

Killarney’s Picnic Basket Day will be held on Sunday 7 April 2019, from 10am to 4pm at Melrose Station.   For more information contact 0437 109 912.
